About etcd
etcd is a distributed, reliable, and strongly consistent key-value store designed for storing critical data in distributed systems and clusters. It provides a simple interface for reading and writing values using standard HTTP tools, supports hierarchical data organization, and allows users to watch for changes to specific keys or directories. etcd is resilient to network partitions and machine failures, including leader node failures, and uses the Raft consensus protocol to ensure data consistency. Features include optional SSL client certificate authentication, support for key expiration via TTLs, and high performance with thousands of writes per second per instance. etcd is a project of the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF).
