About Jacobs University Bremen
Constructor University Bremen (formerly Jacobs University Bremen and International University Bremen) is a private, English-language research university located in Bremen, Germany. Founded in 1999 and beginning instruction in 2001, it is an international, multidisciplinary institution offering undergraduate and graduate education and engaging in research across sciences, engineering, social sciences and related fields. The university operates on a campus converted from the former Roland Barracks (Camp Grohn) and has received institutional accreditation and state recognition from German authorities. In 2007 the Jacobs Foundation made a major endowment and the institution operated under the name Jacobs University Bremen until a 2022 renaming to Constructor University.
