About JSON:API
JSON:API is an open specification that defines conventions for building APIs in JSON. It standardizes how clients should request and modify resources, how servers should format responses (including top-level keys like data, included, links, and relationships), and registers a media type (application/vnd.apijson). The specification and community extensions (profiles) aim to reduce debate over JSON response formats, increase interoperability, enable generalized tooling, and improve caching and client efficiency. JSON:API is maintained as a community specification with versioned releases and documented milestones.
