About Pointy
Pointy provided a solution for brick-and-mortar retailers to automatically showcase their in-store products on Google Search and Maps. By connecting a product reader (formerly the Pointy box) or using the Local Inventory app (formerly the Pointy app), retailers could sync their physical inventory with their Google Business Profile, making it easier for local customers to discover what products are available in nearby stores. The service helped increase store visibility, drive local foot traffic, and improve product awareness by displaying real-time inventory information on Google platforms. Pointy was fully integrated into Google, and its technology now powers the Local Inventory app and product reader for eligible merchants.
