About
The Dirección General del Observatorio de Amenazas y Recursos Naturales (DGOA) is a public government observatory in El Salvador that monitors meteorological, hydrological, geological and oceanographic hazards and natural resources. Its activities include weather forecasts (including maritime/coastal forecasts), radar and satellite monitoring, air and water quality monitoring, hydrologic forecasts and river/groundwater monitoring, seismic and volcanic surveillance, tsunami and sea-level monitoring, landslide susceptibility and hazard mapping, territorial analysis, educational outreach and publication of statistical and impact reports. The observatory provides real-time monitoring, special reports and resources for risk assessment, disaster preparedness and scientific information related to natural hazards in El Salvador.
