The Society of Women Engineers (SWE) is a global non-profit professional organization that advocates for gender equity and inclusion in engineering and technology. Founded in 1950, SWE unites a network of approximately 50,000 members across 85 countries and provides professional development, events and conferences (including the annual WE conference), local section activities, awards, advocacy programs, affinity groups, training, and resources to support women and allies in engineering and related fields. SWE partners with corporations through a Corporate Partnership Council and operates member services such as career resources, merchandise (sweSwag), podcasts, and community initiatives like HeForSWE to grow allyship and inclusion.
