About Tails
Tails is a portable operating system designed to protect users against surveillance and censorship. It routes Internet connections through the Tor network to enhance privacy and help users avoid censorship. Tails can be run from a USB stick, leaving no trace on the computer after shutdown. It includes a suite of applications for secure communication and document handling, and is based on Debian GNU/Linux. Tails is free software and is developed in collaboration with the Tor Project to provide strong privacy and security defaults.
