The Bundesamt für Verfassungsschutz (BfV) is the domestic intelligence agency of the Federal Republic of Germany. It monitors and analyzes extremist and anti-constitutional activities, counterespionage, cyber threats, protection of state secrets, and economic and scientific security to safeguard the country’s free democratic basic order. The BfV conducts intelligence collection, analysis, reporting and coordination with federal and state authorities and publishes threat assessments and the annual Verfassungsschutzbericht.
